How does RideSupporter work?
- RideSupporter will match you with a Patient.
- You’ll confirm with the Clinic and meet the Patient at their discharge, ensuring a smooth check-out process.
- Arrange transportation using RideSupporter’s Uber or Lyft account. We cover all costs.
- Assist the Patient in having a safe, comfortable ride to their recovery location.
- Help the Patient get inside, settled, and set up for recovery.
- Book your safe transport back, using an Uber credit provided by RideSupporter.
- Your earnings will be included in our weekly payouts.

FAQ Frequently Asked Questions
Why is RideSupporter different from traditional PSW work?
Unlike typical in-home care, you won’t be responsible for extended stays or complex medical care. Instead, RideSupporter is all about creating a smooth, stress-free transition after medical care. Our system is designed to make your job as easy and low-stress as possible.
How much do I get paid?
As of Feb 2025, all standard service calls are 3 hour minimum x $30.33/hr.
Last Minute service calls pay up to 50% bonus.
RideSupporters earn 70% of the total amount paid by the Patient after certain fixed costs are deducted. Those fixed costs include taxes, insurance, payment processor fees, booking, and regulatory fees. This means that while your earnings will vary based on the regional market and Patient cost, you’ll consistently receive 70% of the net amount.
When do I get paid?
We aim to get you your hard earned money as quickly as possible. We pay out weekly.
What are the requirements to be a RideSupporter?
You must be 18 years of age. You must provide all documents.

Fully certified PSW licensed to work in your area.

Is this a medical service?
No. You’ll never be required to provide emergency services or medical aid. If a patient is in need of help the procedure is to call 911 emergency services, notify the clinic where the patient received their treatment, and notify their emergency contact.
Do I need a car?
No. You will never be asked to drive a vehicle. Our Agreement with you precludes you from driving for any RideSupporter service.
Do I need a Driver's Licence?
No. You do require valid photo ID but it doesn’t need to be a Driver’s Licence.
How much time does a RideSupporter booking take?
RideSupporter has varying levels of service ranging from 3 hours to 5 hours.
How many RideSupporter bookings can I do in a day?
Up to two.
Do I need insurance?
No, RideSupporter does not require PSWs to carry their own insurance to take bookings through our platform. Our agency is covered by a comprehensive insurance policy, which includes vicarious liability protection. This means that RideSupporter is protected if a claim arises during a booking made through our platform.
However, it’s important to note that this insurance does not provide direct coverage for PSWs. While you are not required to carry your own insurance, we encourage you to consider obtaining personal liability insurance for broader protection, especially for work outside of RideSupporter.
Can I do RideSupporter and still work with other PSW agencies?
Yes. You’re free to find any work opportunites you like.
How often do I have to do RideSupporter bookings?
As many or a few as you like. There’s no minimum or maximum. Fit your RideSupporter availablility into your schedule.
How will I know what to do?

What level of physical assistance do RideSupporters provide to Patients?
RideSupporter service is designed for Patients who are ambulatory and do not require specialized medical attention or equipment. These patients can move independently or with minimal support. RideSupporters are available to assist with basic mobility as needed, ensuring a safe and comfortable journey to the Patient’s recovery location.
