PSW Confidentiality & Email Access
As a RideSupporter Personal Support Worker (PSW), you acknowledge and agree that:
1. Access to Client Information
• You will receive limited client details (such as client name, phone number, clinic location, appointment time, recovery address, and emergency contact information) by email and/or text to allow you to perform your duties.
• The same information will also be available to you in your RideSupporter Team Dashboard.
2. Use of Email and Text
• RideSupporter uses secure systems to send these notifications, but email and text are not fully secure methods of communication.
• By providing your personal email or phone number to RideSupporter, you accept the risks associated with receiving this information in that format.
3. Your Responsibilities
• You must maintain the confidentiality of all client information at all times.
• You must not forward, copy, or store client details outside of RideSupporter systems except as needed to perform your duties.
• You must take reasonable steps to secure access to your email and phone (e.g., use passwords, do not share access).
• You must immediately report to RideSupporter if you believe client information has been lost, stolen, or misdirected.
4. Compliance with Law
• You understand that you are handling personal health information (PHI) under Ontario’s Personal Health Information Protection Act, 2004 (PHIPA).
• Unauthorized use or disclosure of PHI is a serious breach of your Terms of Use and may result in termination, financial liability, and possible legal action.
