How does it work?
Check out. Ride. Recover. That’s RideSupporter. All you have to do is fill out our booking form. We’ll do the rest.
We match you with a RideSupporter – a trained and screened Personal Support Worker. You’ll receive an email confirmation of your booking and a follow up confirmation before your appointment. Your RideSupporter will be in contact with the Clinic to coordinate. You can rest assured they’ll be waiting for you when you’re approved for discharge and check out.
They’ll make arrangements to have your Uber at the closest possible pickup spot. From there they’ll ride with you to your Recovery Location.
Your RideSupporter will make sure you’re comfotably situated inside and provide all the time and services you selected in your booking.
Your RideSupporter will call for their return transport when 15 minutes remain in the service to assist with any final needs and ensure a smooth departure.
You provided us with a deposit. We pay your RideSupporter and Uber then return you the balance. We email you an easy to read receipt.

Why don't RideSupporters drive? Why do you use Uber?
- Clinic and Insurance regulations do not allow taxi or hired drivers to qualify as responsible support.
- To insure a personal vehicle for this use is prohibitively expensive or, in some regions, unavailable.
- Your RideSupporter can focus on your health and safe journey instead of driving or finding parking for a vehicle.
- Your RideSupporter will make sure you get the best pick up and drop off spots while they assist and arrange for door to door service.
How much does it cost?
ALWAYS CONSULT YOUR DOCTOR. Different procedures require different levels of attention and support. RideSupporter provides a range of service levels, prioritizing safety and comfort during your recovery.
RideSupporter Recover is our primary service level. It’s up to a 3 hour service for $129.99 excluding transport, taxes, and fees. A Safe Return Fee of up to $20 may apply to ensure your RideSupporter’s safe return to their destination after providing you with care.
We also offer RideSupporter Last Minute, Extend, and Max service levels to suit your needs.
How long will my RideSupporter stay?
Your RideSupporter is scheduled to begin one hour before your estimated discharge time to allow for any clinic delays or adjustments.
For standard Recover service, your RideSupporter will stay up to 3 hours, but may leave earlier once you’re safely home, settled, and no longer need supervision.
For longer services like Extend and Max, the RideSupporter will stay the full 4–5 hours respectively.
Your safety and comfort come first—we’re here to make sure you’re supported every step of the way.
Are you medical professionals?
Personal Support Workers have a lot of training to help clients with their needs but they’re not nurses or doctors. Your RideSupporter is there to accompany and assist you in getting home safely.
What if there's an emergency?
Our Supporters are there for you. If there’s a medical emergency they’ll call 911, the Clinic, and your Emergency Contact. They’ll stay with you to make sure you get the assistance you need.
Do you perform background checks on your Personal Support Workers?
Yes. We confirm proof of a valid Vulnerable Sector Screening within the last 12 months. When a new check is required we are a registered agency with Toronto Police Service – Police Reference Check Program – Canada’s most trusted provider for thorough background checks.
Does RideSupporter offer traditional personal support work?
No, we don’t. We’re focused on providieng RideSupporter services only.

Is RideSupporter Insured?
Yes. RideSupporter’s platform is covered by a comprehensive insurance policy that includes vicarious liability protection. This means that while PSWs are providing services booked through RideSupporter, our policy protects the agency against claims related to their actions.
However, this coverage does not directly insure individual PSWs. PSWs using RideSupporter are independent contractors and are encouraged to carry their own professional liability insurance for additional protection. We also ensure that all PSWs are vetted, including background checks, to prioritize safety and professionalism for our clients.
